How To Solo Mine Monero On A Mac?

In this article I will give you a step by step guide on how to Solo Mine Monero on a mac for complete newbies with no technical skill.

Step 1: Download The Monero CLI

If you are non technical, using the Monero CLI can be daunting. But don’t worry, I will tell you exactly what you need to type. You can download it here: https://www.getmonero.org/downloads/#cli . As you seen in the above screenshot I circled the Mac Download. Click and download that one.

Step 2: Run Monerod

After you have unzipped the download you should see a bunch of files like the screenshot above. We’re going to want to run the one called monerod (highlighted above and pointed to with a red arrow).

You may notice the mac wont let you run this program if you just click it. Don’t worry that’s expected. Mac does that to any application not downloaded from the Mac App Store. To get around this you want to right click the monerod icon and click open, like…
